SSIP Alumni Association ( Registered)

About

 SSIP Alumni Association is administered by an Alumni Committee. The alumni association is very active in promoting interactions and togetherness among the alumni, staff and the management.  The Alumni of SSIP are helping the students in their project work and also about the employment opportunities in their respective organizations in India and Abroad. So, it extending its support to college to achieve its cherished goals, its vision and mission. SSIP Alumni Association (SSIPIAN) takes great pleasure in forming an active Alumni Network. The aim of this platform is to facilitate easy communication amongst SSIP alumni and also provide an opportunity to reconnect with their Alma-Mater.

Objectives

  1. To provide a platform for all its members to meet, to interact and to exchange views on various health care and pharmaceutical issues regularly.
  2. To foster and maintain interaction between the college and its alumni.
  1. To promote the academic and professional development of members through activities, courses, seminars, conferences and any other activities as the Committee may decide to organize or participate in.

4.To conduct annual meetings of all its members for its scientific and non-scientific interactions.

  1. To aid and provide for, through the Association and in co-operation with other organizations, the promotion and advancement of graduates of the SSIP
  2. To promote and conduct activities amongst the members of the Association and to accept any contributions, donations or any other form of payment for the purposes of the attainment of the objectives of the Association.
  3. Increase funding in support of student and alumni programs
  4. SSIPIAN requires adequate funding of its events and activities if it is to have an effective alumni relations program. Without proper funding, the Association will be limited in its ability to reach and connect with students, alumni and potential donors. The expenditures of the alumni relations program are seen as both a short and long-term investment in the College, upon which the return is measured in donor gifts and membership in the SSPIAN.

Regulations of Association of Sri Sukhmani Institute Of Pharmacy Alumni Association (SSIPIAN)

  1. MEMBERSHIP: ADMISSION

 

  1. The signatories to the Memorandum of Association, the office carries of the Governing Body of the Association shall be first members of the Association.
  2. The Governing body admit to membership any person in good standing who has been a student of SSIP agree in writing ,to be bound by the Memorandum of Association and regulations of the Association ,and who in the opinion of the Governing Body will be interested in the advancement of the objects of the Association.

Rs.500 per alumna for life membership and it is collected in first year of admission in college.

A person who is passing out from SSIP can become a member of Alumni Association.

 

  1. There will be two types of Members:

LIFE MEMBERS: Any ordinary member paying prescribed subscription in one installment may become a life member of the Association.

HONORARY MEMBERS: Any person who has distinguished himself by virtue of this meritorious service in furtherance of the objects of the Association may be elected to honorary membership by the Governing Body on the recommendation of a member of the Association for any period not exceeding Twelve months at a time. Such members shall not, however, be eligible to be the member of the governing body nor shall be entitled to vote in any meeting.

CESSATION OF MEMBERSHIP:

Any member shall cease to be a member-

  • On his resignation from membership by a letter addressed to the secretary of the Association subject to the approval of the Governing Body/Core Committee.
  • On his failure to pay subscription for such period as may be determined by the Governing Body/Core Committee.
  • On his failure to be personally interested in the association.
  • On his being found guilty of conduct prejudicial to the interest of the Association.

 

REGISTER OF MEMBER:

The Association shall maintain a register of members containing the names, addresses and their occupations, the date of admission and the date of cessation of membership. The Register shall be kept at the registered office of the Association and will be open for inspection by requisition of other members of the Association on request.

 

RIGHT AND OBLIGATION OF MEMBERS:

Any member of the Association has the right

  • To elect and to be elected in any election of the Association.
  • To submit suggestion for discussion to the Governing Body and Sub-Committee on any matter relating to the Association.
  • To inspect the accounts and the proceedings of the meeting of the Association on appointment with the Secretary.
  • To pay his subscription within the prescribed time.
  • To approach the Association for such assistance in keeping with the objects and constitution of the Association.

Defaulting members shall not be allowed to take part vote in a meeting. Members shall have one vote each.

 

EXPULSION OF MEMBERS:

Frequent action of any members if bound by the Governing Body to be detrimental to the interest and in violation of the rules and regulations of the Association, he/she may be, after due enquiry, censured, suspended or expelled from the membership by the Governing Body. In that case the Governing Body shall first serve the member concerned with a show-cause showing therein the charges framed and asked him to submit his statement of defense within a month. On receipt of the explanation the Governing Body shall have the power to take a suitable action against the delinquent member after allowing him to defend his case. If reply to the show-cause notice is not received within a month, the Governing Body may take an expert decision.

 

  1. COMPOSITION AND ELECTION OF GOVERNING BODY/CORE COMMITTEE:

There shall be Governing Body consisting of not less than 5 and not more than 12 members and it will be composed elected members and one Jesuits /Advisor nominated by the governing body. Elected members shall be elected at the annual general meeting of the Association.The office bearers of the Governing Body shall consist of President, Vice President , Secretary and a Treasurer. The office bearers shall be elected by the Governing Body amongst themselves.

The life term of the Governing Body shall be one calendar year. The retiring Governing Body shall have the right to nominate four members to the succeeding Governing Body.

 

  1. TERMINATION OF MEMBERSHIP:

  A Member of the Governing Body shall cease to be a member of the Governing Body if-

  • He resigns by letter addressed to secretary or
  • He absents himself from three consecutive meetings of the Governing Body without any lease or without any reasonable ground or
  • He is convicted of any offence in connection with the formation, promotion, management or conduct of the affairs of the Association or of a body corporate of any offence involving moral turpitude.

 

  1. MEETING OF GOVERNING BODY/CORE COMMITTEE:

A meeting of the Governing Body shall be held at least once in three months at such place and time as the president or the Secretary may determine.

 

  1. NOTICE AND QUORUM:

Seven days notice of the meetings specifying the place, time and the general nature of business to be transacted shall be given to every member of the Governing Body.

Emergency meeting may be called on 48 hours notice. Five members personally present shall constitute a Quorum for the meeting and if Quorum is not present within one hour of the time the members present shall adjourn meeting.

 

SAFE CUSTODY OF PROPERTIES:

  1. The Governing Body of the Association shall be responsible for the safe custody of the funds, properties and assets of the Association.
  2. The funds of the Association shall be kept in one or more banks.

 

BOOKS OF ACCOUNT AND INSPECTION:

The books of account and other statutory books shall be kept at the registered office of the Association and shall be open to inspection of the members at such time or place as the Governing Body directs on a written request made by any member.

 

ACCOUNTING YEAR:

The accounting year of the Association shall be the 1st day of April of each year to the 31st day of March of the following year.

 

GENERAL MEETINGS

 

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETINGS:

NOTICE: The Secretary shall annually call the Annual general meeting within two months from the end of the last financial year giving at least 14 days notice to all members. The notice shall contain the place, date, day and time of meeting.

 

QUORUM OF THE MEETING:

One third of the meeting present at the commencement of the meeting shall constitute the quorum.

 

MANNER AND METHOD OF VOTING:

The President of the meeting shall decide the manner and method of voting at the outset of the meeting.

 

AUDIT OF ACCOUNTS:

The Association shall have its account audited once a year by a Chartered Accountant. Such Auditor shall be appointed in the Annual general Meeting and his remuneration shall also be fixed in that meeting.

 

DISSOLUTION OF ASSOCIATION:

The duration of the Association is “at will”. The Association may be dissolved by resolution to that effect passed by three fourth of the members of the Association present at a General Meeting. The Said meeting shall also decide the manner of disbursement of the funds and assets of the Association, if any, after dissolution.

 

And now the parties hereto have put their signatures on this Memorandum, on the day date mentioned herein above.
